Pastor Chris Oyakhilome, born on December 7 7 1963, in Edo State, Nigeria, was raised in a household that was a faith-based one, and was surrounded by loving and devoted parents. He is the oldest son of Elder T.E Oyakhilome, one of the first pioneers of the Assemblies Of God Church in Benin City, and Angelina who is the mother of the Oyakhilome family, who imparted her divine grace upon her son from a young age.

Pastor Chris Oyakhilome began his education at Edo College. Then he was granted a scholarship to study at Bendel State University, now Ambrose Ali University. There he graduated with an BSc. in Architecture, as well as an honorary Doctor of Science. He has also been awarded an honorary doctorate from Benson Idahosa University in divinity.
