Pastor Chris The Man
Pastor Chris Oyakhilome, born on December 7 7 1963, in Edo State, Nigeria, grew up in a family that was a faith-based one, and was surrounded by his loving and dedicated parents. He was the oldest of four children of Elder T.E Oyakhilome, one of the first pioneers of the Assemblies Of God Church in Benin City, and Angelina, and the matriarch of the Oyakhilome family, who imprinted her divine grace upon her son at an early age.
The LoveWorld ministry is a collaborative effort between the families. His brother Reverend Ken, is the esteemed Pastor of Christ Embassy’s Houston, Texas Church and an active member of Christ Embassy Central Executive Council and his sister, KattyWorghiren, is the director of the LoveWorld Music and Arts Ministry (LMAM), which houses a variety of world-class gospel artists.
Pastor Chris has two kids, Carissa Sharon and Charlene. Carissa Sharon decided to follow her father’s example in sharing God’s Word with the world. Also known as CSO (Community Service Organization) She is a talented gospel singer and part of the LoveWorld Music and Arts community.
Pastor Chris Oyakhilome studied at Edo College before winning a scholarship to pursue a degree in architecture at Bendel State University, known now as Ambrose Ali University, where he obtained an BSc in Architecture as well as an honorary Doctor of Science award. He also holds an honourary doctorate in divinity from Benson Idahosa University. Ambrose Ali University was his first university. He received a call from God to join the ministry and serve the Lord.
Pastor Chris: A Mentor
While he was at university, the Man of God created what would become one of the biggest churches in the world. He began an unassuming prayer group dubbed “Youth for Christ” which would become the most well-known group of its kind on campus. It could also be the foundation for the future Christ Embassy and LoveWorld Incorporated, with millions of followers across the world.
Under the guidance of Pastor Chris, the LoveWorld ministry became a pioneer in satellite TV and Christian television production and programming. LOVEWORLDSAT was the first Christian television station that broadcast out of Africa throughout the day on free-to air channels. In the present, LoveWorld stations can be located on cable and satellite television networks across the globe.
Christ Embassy has a strong presence in Pastor Chris’s home country of Nigeria. The church has two Healing Schools that are located in South Africa and Canada, where Pastor Chris organizes seasonal sessions during which miraculous events are witnessed.
Oyakhilome Music and Gospel Music form an integral part in worship. Pastor Chris is a strong advocate for Christ Embassy Churches and Loveworld Music and Arts Ministry choir in their training. A lot of these vocalists have been successful as soloists under Pastor Chris Oyakhilome’s direction.

In addition to proclaiming the gospel, The Man of God has also created a variety of non-profit organizations that have the mission of providing vital services and hope to those who are poor, in need or neglected. Five partners form part of COFI which works together to improve living standards in the poorest regions.
COFI is accountable for the InnerCity Mission ICM for Children as well as the Volunteer Medical Corps VMC, Traumacare International Foundation TCIF, Future Africa Leaders Foundation (FALF) and in addition to the Bible For All Mission. Each of these organizations works to improve the lives of people as well as their health, spirits, and well-being.
His charity also provides financial support to children who are in poverty. Pastor Chris believes in building strong communities by encouraging good governance and accountable leadership.
