Pastor Chris Oyakhilome was born December 7th, 1963, in Edo State in Nigeria. He grew up in a family of faith with loving, committed parents. He is the eldest of three sons who was born to Elder T.E Oyakhilome (one of the founders of Assemblies for God Church in Benin City) and Angelina. Oyakhilome Angelina was the matriarch and imprinted her grace to her son at a young age.
The whole family is actively engaged with the LoveWorld ministry. His brother Reverend Ken is the renowned pastor of Christ Embassy’s Houston, Texas Church and an active member of Christ Embassy Central Executive Council and his sister, KattyWorghiren, is the director of the LoveWorld Music and Arts Ministry (LMAM), which is home to several global best-selling gospel artists.
Pastor Chris has two children, Carissa Sharon and Charlene. Carissa Sharon has chosen to follow her father’s example of sharing the Gospel of God with the world and is also called CSO She is an accomplished gospel artist, award-winning and a member of the LoveWorld Music and Arts family.
Pastor Chris Oyakhilome studied at Edo College before winning a scholarship to study architecture at Bendel State University, known today as Ambrose Ali University, where the student earned a BSc in Architecture as well as an honorary Doctor of Science award. He has also been awarded an honorary doctorate from Benson Idahosa University in divinity. While at Ambrose Ali University, he got his calling from God to go into the ministry and become an ambassador for the Lord.

While he was at university, The Man of God founded what would be one of the largest churches worldwide. He established an informal prayer group called “Youth for Christ” which would develop into the most renowned organization of its kind on campus.
