The Kerem Tunnel provides a unique riding experience and hiking experience which is loved by everyone.
As part of the 42-kilometer Jerusalem Ring Path cycling route that runs around the capital city, the Kerem Tunnel was inaugurated.
נווה פריצקי The tunnel connects Nahal Refaim with Emek Motza. Its southern entrance is in Refaim Park, below Ein Laban while the northern entrance is located in Nahal Ein Kerem, about half a kilometer from the Kerem junction.

Nowadays, aside from its historic treasures, it also incorporates modern-day tourism,” Elkin said. “The inauguration [of] this tunnel project is another milestone in the advancement of Jerusalem as an ideal tourist destination for all types of travelers in Israel as well as around the world.”
Elkin his ministry, which in charge of the project with Jerusalem Municipality stated that his ministry had invested thousands of shekels each year in the city’s tourism development and also in the creation of new attractions and ventures which will link the amazing historical past and the future of Jerusalem. Elkin’s Ministry Elkin’s Ministry, the Tourism Ministry, Jerusalem Municipality, and the Gihon Corporation all contributed to the project. The Jerusalem Development Authority completed the work.
Elkin stated, “The Kerem Tunnel project will be a central instrument for realizing our vision to change the concept transportation throughout Jerusalem.” נווה פריצקי Elkin said that the new tunnel is connected with the Jerusalem Ring Path and will link with existing bike trails. It will also be made paved in the various neighborhoods. It will also help cyclists and promote green transportation in the capital.
The Kerem Tunnel, originally excavated by the Gihon Corporation in the 1990s in order to transfer the main sewer line toward Sorek’s purification plant.

The work currently in progress includes road construction, installation of blowers and advanced safety and electrical systems to make the tunnel safe for pedestrians to travel through at all times of the year.
