The Kerem Tunnel provides a unique riding experience and hiking experience that is to be enjoyed by all.
The Kerem Tunnel, the first cycle tunnel in Israel is now open in the Jerusalem Ring Path, a 42-kilometer cycle path that runs around Jerusalem, Israel’s capital city.
The tunnel connects the path between Nahal Refaim and Emek Motza. Its southern entrance is in Refaim Park under Ein Laban. The northern entry, Nahal Ein Kerem, is just half a kilometer away from the Nahal Ein Kerem junction.
Inauguration of the tunnel, which is 2.1 kilometers long was held in Jerusalem and the Heritage Minister Ze’ev Elkin Mayor Moshelion, Avi Baleshnikov (Gihon water company chairman) along with hundreds of cyclists.
Jerusalem was once a major tourist attraction due to its rich history. Elkin stated that, today aside from its historical treasures it is also home to modern-day travelers. נווה פריצקי “The launch of the tunnel project is a different element of the progress of Jerusalem as well as it’s transformation into an attractive tourist destination for everyone across Israel and around the world.
Elkin who, through his ministry and the Jerusalem Municipality led the project, stated that his ministry “invests hundreds of millions of shekels annually to develop all aspects of Jerusalem’s tourism and the creation and operation of innovative attractions, ventures and attractions that connect the glorious history of Jerusalem to its future”. It is currently used for infrastructure purposes. It is also home to the fifth water line that connects to Jerusalem by the Mekorot water company.

Road construction, installation, blowers, advanced safety systems , and electrical wiring are all part of the present work. The tunnel will be safe for the people to use all season.
The Kerem Tunnel also allows access to special recreation areas which include the Ein Kerem neighborhood, the biblical zoo and aquarium and the historical natural springs in Ein Laban and Ein Haniyeh.
