The Kerem Tunnel allows for a unique hiking and riding experience.
As part of the 42-kilometer Jerusalem Ring Path cycling route, which surrounds the capital, the Kerem Tunnel was inaugurated.

The northern entrance, Nahal Ein Kerem, is approximately half a mile away from the Nahal Ein Kerem junction.
The opening ceremony of the tunnel which measures 2.1 kilometers long took place in Jerusalem and the Heritage Minister Ze’ev Elkin Mayor Moshelion, Heritage Minister Ze’ev Elkin Avi Baleshnikov (Gihon water company chairman) as well as a plethora of cyclists.
Jerusalem was once a tourist attraction due to its rich past. Elkin’s Ministry Elkin’s Ministry Tourism Ministry, Jerusalem Municipality as well as the Gihon Corporation all contributed to the project. The Jerusalem Development Authority completed the work.

The Kerem Tunnel first was excavated in the 90s to move a main sewer line for the Gihon Corporation towards Sorek. It is currently used as an infrastructure Tunnel which includes the fifth waterline that runs to Jerusalem via the Mekorot water corporation.
