The Kerem Tunnel allows for a the most unique riding and hiking experience.
The Kerem Tunnel, the first cycle tunnel in Israel is now open as part of the Jerusalem Ring Path, a 42-kilometer cycling route that surrounds the capital city.
It links Nahal Refaim to Emek Motza. The southern entrance is in Refaim Park under Ein Laban. The northern entry, Nahal Ein Kerem, is approximately half a mile away from the Nahal Ein Kerem junction.
The tunnel’s official opening ceremony which measures 2.1 kilometers long, was held in Jerusalem and the Heritage Minister Ze’ev Elkin, Mayor Moshelion and Avi Baleshnikov (Gihon water company chairman of the company) and hundreds more cyclists.

Elkin’s Ministry Elkin’s Ministry Tourism Ministry, Jerusalem Municipality as well as the Gihon Corporation all contributed to the project. The Jerusalem Development Authority completed the project.
“The Kerem Tunnel project is the central instrument for achieving the goal to change the concept of transportation throughout Jerusalem,” Elkin emphasized. Elkin explained that the proposed tunnel connects to the Jerusalem Ring Path and will link with existing bike paths. It will also be paved in its different neighborhoods. The tunnel will be a great way to help cyclists and promote green transportation in the capital.
