In the 42-kilometer Jerusalem Ring Path cycling route, which surrounds the capital, the Kerem Tunnel was inaugurated.
It links Nahal Refaim to Emek Motza. The southern entrance of the tunnel is below Ein Laban in Refaim Park. The northern entrance can be located in Nahal Ein Kerem.
The 2.1-kilometer-long tunnel was officially opened by Jerusalem’s Heritage Minister ZeevElkin. The ceremony was also attended by Mayor Moshelion Avi Balehnikov Gihon Water Company Chairman, and hundreds of cyclists.

Elkin who, along with the Jerusalem Municipality spearheaded the project, stated that the ministry “invests hundreds of millions of shekels each year in the development of all aspects of Jerusalem’s tourism and in the creation of new tourist attractions and ventures that link the fascinating history of our capital city’s eternal past to its future… I would like to invite cyclists to ride a secure and modern-day route that takes you through Old Jerusalem.
