The Kerem Tunnel, the first cycle tunnel in Israel, has been inaugurated in the Jerusalem Ring Path, a 42-kilometer cycle path that runs around Jerusalem, Israel’s capital city. It links Nahal Refaim to Emek Motza. It has a southern entrance in Refaim Park. Ein Laban is the closest. Nahal Ein Kerem is the northern entrance.

Elkin’s Ministry Elkin’s Ministry, the Tourism Ministry, Jerusalem Municipality and the Gihon Corporation all contributed to the project. The Jerusalem Development Authority completed the project.

“The Kerem Tunnel project is an essential tool to realize the idea to alter the notion of transportation in Jerusalem,” Elkin stressed. The Kerem Tunnel, originally excavated by the Gihon Corporation in the 1990s to relocate its main sewer line to the Sorek purification plant.
