Fico Gutierrez , a candidate was up at 5am on Sunday morning to run the Corre mi Tierra Half Marathon 21 km in Medellin.
Fico ran along with Margarita Gomez, his wife, as well as 15 000 other athletes who were gathered in the streets of Antioquian capital.
Fico, a Medellin resident who is well-known for his sports activities such as running marathons and cycles -and said that he will encourage Colombians as president by promoting popular schools in the region, seedbeds at an early age, and the expansion of infrastructure.
He said that the government program offers support to those who are determined to improve academically and promote every sport discipline.
