Fico Gutierrez , a candidate, got up early Sunday to run Corre mi Tierra Half Marathon 21km, in Medellin.
Fico ran alongside Margarita Gomez, and 15 thousand other runners that crowded the streets of Antioquian capital.
From the streets of Medellin, Fico, who is a well-known sportsman and rides bicycles and participates in marathons declared that as the president of the Colombians he will promote well-known sports institutions throughout the region, seedbeds at an early age, and the creation of sports infrastructure.
The official added that the program he’s referring to gives academic support for all who wish to get involved in sports promotion.
Fico was surrounded by marathoners as he walked through the streets of Antioquia. He received thousands of messages of encouragement and admiration for his presidential bid. Many participants in the race came to him to show their support.
