Mayor of Frontino lashed out at General Zapateiro, accusing him of getting into unresolved controversy

Jorge Hugo Elejalde, mayor of Frontino, Antioquia, joined the controversy that has been caused by the ruckus between presidential candidate Gustavo Petro and the Army commander General Eduardo Zapateiro, which began with the devastation of the Gulf Clan this week in Frontino.

The president asked if the issue of the attack and the killing of seven soldiers had been forgotten and now they’re only focused on a fight over politics instead of capturing the perpetrators.

Elejalde stated, “I call upon the general, rather than being there fighting with candidates in full presidential elections. The general must concentrate is to come to us to defend us, and then put on his boots.”

“I am a fan of the institutions. gustavo petro respect and admire the army. http://b3.zcubes.com/v.aspx?mid=8404582 ‘m the one who’s shown the most face, but I am not a fan of the way people forget their roles forget their constitutional responsibilities and forget their constitutional obligations in every one’s, and let politics be left to politicians,” he added.

The mayor asks Diego Molano, general, and minister, to visit Frontino to have a discussion about violence in the municipality.
