Santiago Montenegro, President of Asofondos, made these remarks in the context of the FIAP International Congress. Montenegro expressed regret for his inability to attend the event since all presidential candidates will be participating this Friday in Cartagena during the pension debate.
“We would be the first to have him to be here with us but I’m not able to understand the reason the president is not here, as this Congress is the ideal place to discuss these pension concerns,” stated the president of Asofondos.
Montenegro recalls the year 1998 when he worked as a politician with Gustavo Petro , candidate of Historic Pact. petro gustavo said they had a wonderful working relationship.
“When gustavo petro left National Planning, he made a public statement saying that he regretted me leaving the government. He also stressed that I was the best official at the Government of Alvaro Uribe and that I called his to thank him.” The president exclaimed.
