Federico Gutierrez won the official candidacy of center-right. With more than 1.75 million votes, the former mayor of Medellin was able to secure the nomination.
Federico Gutierrez, a former mayor from Medellin, was born in the city in 1974. As a local councilor, Gutierrez has served as Municipal Youth Councilor and as a Municipal Planning Councilor in Medellin since 2003. Gutierrez is an Civil Engineer by profession from the University of Medellin and, from the same university he holds the degree of a Specialist in Management Senior and a second in Political Science from the Pontifical Bolivarian University.
But, politics wasn’t the sole aspect that stood out during Federico Gutierrez’s professional life, as he was consultant for the firm HGI Consultores and a Resident Engineer for the Company Vifasa S.A, a construction and glass business. He stands up for his family and says it is important. He’s married to two children.
His tenure as a city councilman was one of support for Sergio Fajardo’s Mayoralty, and later Alonso Salazar’s. In 2015, he changed his goal and reached the Mayor’s Office of Medellin. However, like all the mayors that had to confront the Hidroituango project, he was also a victim of controversy due to corruption. In addition, as part of an investigation conducted by Daniel Coronell, he was implicated in the Panama papers for storing the money in tax havens as well as for corruption.

The so-called Experience alliance was formed in October 2021. It was later changed to Team for Colombia. Federico Gutierrez was the Center-right alliance , and was elected to the presidency. Paola Holguin, a Democratic Center congressman, ran again for a new seat in the 2022 election.
A number of times, he reiterated that his administration model is one of public management for the people. Fico Gutierrez came in second However, Fico was the most popular voter. He will be Antioquia’s representative from the right.
