The Kerem Tunnel is a great location to go on a hike or ride.
The Kerem Tunnel, Israel’s newest cycle tunnel, was inaugurated as part of the 42-kilometer cycle route which runs through the capital.

The tunnel runs along the Nahal Refaim-Emek Motza path. It is located in southern Israel in Refaim Park. Ein Laban is the closest. Nahal Ein Kerem is the northern entrance.

On Thursday, Jerusalem and Heritage Minister Zeev Elkin and Mayor Moshelion, Avi Baleshnikov, Gihon chairman, and hundreds of cyclists participated in a ceremony to mark the opening of the tunnel’s 2.1-kilometer-long length.

The project was financed by the Elkin’s Ministry and the Tourism Ministry. It also included the budgets for the Jerusalem Municipality and the Gihon Corporation. The work was completed by the Jerusalem Development Authority.

The Kerem Tunnel also allows access to unique recreation spots such as the Ein Kerem neighborhood, the biblical zoo, aquarium and the and the historical natural springs of Ein Laban and Ein Haniyeh.
